The Hum Before the Healing: Why Sound Baths Work (And Why Utah Is Listening)
There’s a reason OM is used in yoga.
OM isn’t just a sound - it’s a vibration. In yogic tradition, it’s known as the sound of creation, the frequency believed to mirror the vibration of God, source, or the universe itself.
But here’s what fascinates me most:
When we make the sound OM, the tongue never touches the roof of the mouth - meaning it isn’t shaped, controlled, or directed. Unlike most words, OM isn’t guided by the tongue, by language, or by the mind.
It’s guided solely by breath and vibration.
That makes OM unique - a sound that’s not performed, but released.
Not forced, but felt.
It becomes a symbol of the most natural healing language we have - resonance.
When I Discovered Vibration as Healing (Long Before I Knew What It Was)
Years ago, while training in Bali, my group would sit together every morning and hum — not chanting sacred syllables, not trying to sound spiritual - just breathing sound through our bodies.
We weren’t “practicing sound healing.”
We weren’t trying to “OM.”
We were simply humming together.
But something happened.
Somehow, without effort,
my mind went quiet.
My breath deepened.
My nervous system softened.
I didn’t think my way into peace.
I could feel it.
Only later did I understand:
We weren’t just humming.
We were creating a human sound bath -
a natural OM, free from rules, free from technique,
a shared vibration aligning our hearts, lungs, fascia, and nervous systems.
That’s when I began to understand something:
Sound isn’t something we listen to. It’s something we feel.
Why Sound Baths Work - And Why They’re Growing in Utah
Today, when I hold sound healing sessions in Utah - using crystal bowls, chimes, the gong, and my voice - I’m not offering performance, music, or meditation.
I’m offering vibration without effort.
Science now shows that sound waves can regulate the nervous system, balance brain waves, lower cortisol, and support emotional processing. This is why sound healing is becoming more popular in Utah wellness centers, yoga studios, and even corporate spaces - especially among those experiencing:
▪️ Anxiety or stress
▪️ Burnout or decision fatigue
▪️ Overstimulation (screens, noise, pressure)
▪️ Disconnection from body, purpose, or intuition
Sound doesn’t force healing.
It doesn’t demand focus.
It doesn’t require you to be “good at meditation.”
It simply entrains the body back to its natural rhythm.
Sound Baths and Energy Alignment - My Way of Guiding
In my sound bath and sound healing sessions in Utah, I use:
Crystal bowls - to match different energetic centers
396 Hz, 417 Hz, 528 Hz, 639 Hz - frequencies for release, emotional balance, and harmony
Vocal toning and intuitive OM - to reawaken the healing vibration within you
Gentle dialogue - to help you recognize energy shifts, not just feel them
Sometimes clients cry.
Sometimes they sleep.
Sometimes they simply say: “I didn’t know my mind could feel this quiet.”
But that’s the thing - we don’t always need more answers.
We often just need to feel safe enough to hear ourselves again.
That’s what sound does.
Not through logic.
Not through discipline.
But through vibrational permission.
Why I Offer Sound Healing in Utah Now
People are craving something deeper than meditation apps, playlists, or wellness checklists.
They’re craving embodied peace.
To sit in a room
and feel the body soften,
without trying.
To breathe
without instruction.
To allow
without effort.
To not be fixed-
but simply met by sound.
That’s what true sound bath healing does.
And that’s why I offer it - here in my private practice in Utah, and virtually for those outside the state.
